Bucks
County Antiques Dealers Association On-Going Education
On
December 29, 14 masked members of the BCADA invaded the Mercer
Museum in Doylestown, PA and the museum did not disappoint.
The museum was created and completed by gentleman Anthropologist,
Henry Mercer, in 1916. It preserves artifacts of preindustrial
life collected by Mr. Mercer. The building is seven stories
tall in parts and cast of poured-in concrete. In addition
to tools, it displays furnishings of early America including
carriages, stove plates, a gallows, fire engines, a whaleboat,
the Lenape Stone, primitives, clocks, musical instruments,
advertising signs, and more. It was quite the educational
experience that everyone should see. Have a happy New Year!

Three
certified appraisers from the Bucks County Antiques Dealers Asociation conducted
their second 'Appraisal Day' at the Newtown Presbyterian church on Sunday, September
25, 2011. There were many beautiful and interesting items there including some
sterling silverware, 19th century original oil paintings, vintage Chinese terra
cotta figurals, 19th century mantle clocks, Roseville bowls, and more. The appraisers
from the club were Dan Worden, Ashley King, and Bill D'Anjolell who all enjoyed
the patrons and there special items. The church expects to make this an annual
event." |
